The people who have allowed themselves to be dominated for 30 to 40 years should expect only one thing to free them - armed insurrection. Dictators do not want to be average citizens again. To try it slowly brings most mass killings. In a crowd of thirty thousand, for one man to bring a pistol and the next day, for another man to bring a pistol, is sure suicide. To bring five to ten thousand guns the day they all decide to be free, is a start and may work right then. When American patriots said "No more" to English rule, they all showed up with something and with small plans to cause damage in small confrontations. We had many " Commanders in Chief" for each different foray, but as they grew larger, we called for leaders who could tie in larger numbers of combatants. Ask the Israelies how their freedom was shaken out in 1948. Ask the French how their freedom was won. Small countries in South America always had some who showed the others how to do it - with heart and determination. The Alamo, with its 240 men facing Santa Ana with 7,000 soldiers is another great example of the determination of men to govern themselves. They paved the way for freedom. Iran's millions, while sustaining heavy losses, could eventually stomp flat all the government agencies and the military who seek to keep them slaves. It all depends upon the heart and determination of the people. As they succeed, they pick up the weapons their enemies have dropped.
